Why Must Comcast XFinity Be So Devious?
70The Trouble With Comcast
Having been a customer of Comcast for several years, I have learned the hard way, to stay on top of my bill. So when I called last week it was no surprise to hear my bill would be increasing $40.00 per month. Now mind you I only have basic cable and basic internet. No fancy channels, no high speed. The reason for the increase was not satisfactorily explained to me so I came away with "just because".
I admit, I do enjoy my creature comforts (TV and internet). Yes, I like to watch television in the evening and use the internet. Having the slowest connection is only inconvenient when trying to download something.( Maybe a notch above the old dial up)
My customer service rep was extremely nice and helpful. First he suggested calling customer loyalty. ( Been there, done that saved a whopping $5 bucks). So much for loyalty.
Comcast as a Second Job
After considerable searching, my rep stated he had found a program for $79.00 a month that would include TV, Internet and phone, then in six months would go up to $99. Since that is less than I now pay (for less service), I heartily agreed to switch. I held, he fiddle and I held some more. Eventually, my rep regretfully informed me he was unable to make the changes, due to a code malfunction, and would have to enlist the help of a supervisor. Once that was done, he would call me back and I would be good to go. That was last week and I'm still waiting.
This means, I now have to call Comcast again (when I have 30 minutes I don't know what to do with), and attempt to get some sort of new program. Dealing with Comcast Customer Service has become tantra-mount to having a non-paying second job. You have to be consistently vigilant, persistant and donate lots of time.
Am I the one that's Crazy?
It is my misfortune to live in an area that is only serviced by Comcast. I have had Direct TV out (the last time I had devious tactics employed), and try as they might, they were not able to make a proper installation. To their credit, Direct TV told me if they did install, it would be inferior. Wow! An honest Company.
Truthfully, Comcast scares me. I have had many a conversation over the years that they claim never took place.
Because Comcast's company policy is to put nothing in writing, I can never verify what the last person told me. I rest uneasy until my bill comes each month. It can change inexplicably and with no warning or explanation.
They make me feel I am the crazy one and must have "sleep dialed", as no one ever recorded the details of the current plan. I once was told I had nothing to worry about until December, then the next month I got a bill for $200.00. Conversation never happened .Am I the one that's crazy?
Comcast Victims
Fortunately for me I stumbled upon a web site called "Comcast Must Die". I'm not crazy! This (and worse) has actually happened to others. Bait and Switch, and lots of devious practices. Xfinity is a good name, as the ways they choose to screw you are Xfinite.
I no longer care what high priced personality they employ to sell me on Comcast. In fact I now question the integrity of these spokespersons. I will bear the expense of moving just to escape Comcast clutches.
Lie to me, accuse me of making things up, jerk me around, waste my time, overcharge me, do what you will, I have been complacent in becoming a Comcast Victim because I want to watch TV.
I will move to a tent if I have to. Just as long as I can get a different Basic Cable provider.
